Our History

The Firm was founded in 2011 under the name Valbury Capital Ltd. in anticipation of a rising demand for a mid-market brokerage among clients poorly served by the larger institutional firms, but in need of a more sophisticated service than retail firms can provide.

Initially specialising in the Asian markets, and providing parent company Valbury Asia’s clients with the option of a London-based account, our product and service portfolio grew steadily, reflecting our clients’ preferences and requirements. Reputation has grown alongside this offering, recognised in an invitation to open the London Stock Exchange in 2012, and hosting the LSE’s Asia Capital Market’s Day a year later.

The firm was acquired by the current owners in February 2021 and renamed Hibiscus Group Limited. More recently, we have expanded our reach into the Isle of Man with Hibiscus (IOM) Limited.

Today, we offer a comprehensive multi-asset, multi-platform service, an established full-service brokerage dedicated to the interests of experienced, mid-market investors, with the personal touch of a smaller, independent-minded firm.
